January is "Make Your Will" Month

florida baptist conventionMake Your Will Month, traditionally held in January, is a good time to renew the commitment and encourage your people to prepare for the inevitable. If you have a will, and it's more than five years old, now is a good time to review it. Have births, deaths, marriages taken place that affect your current plan? Have minor children become adults? Did you move to another state? Any of these life changes may necessitate changes to your will. If you do not have a will, someone else will choose who will be in charge, who will take care of your children and the State of Florida will determine who gets your assets. Without a will, you lose the opportunity to make these decisions for yourself. If you need a will or need updates and desire to leave a gift to a Baptist ministry, contact the Office of Strategic Endowed Giving at 1-800-226-8584, ext. 3030 to find out how we can help. If you would like to have an Estate Planning seminar presented in your church from a Biblical perspective, call the above number to schedule or email at endowedgiving@flbaptist.org.
